HERO Barbell Co. is honored to welcome Colten Mertens to TEAM HERO!

Colten shares so many similarities with our company – humble beginnings, blue collar, grit, sweat equity, discipline, determination, and work ethic.  All of these traits personify Colten. 

He grew up in Iowa, graduated in 2020 from Northern Iowa University, and already had a trip to the Team Games under his belt (2018).  COVID cancelled everyone’s plans in 2020 and 2021, but he came back with a vengeance in 2022 to punch his ticket to the Games as an individual.  2023 was more of the same, as he finished as the 18th fittest man in the world.  He loves working out on his farm, peanut butter cups, and competing. 

HERO Is proud to welcome Colten into its ranks of elite athletes.  We are even more pumped to announce the Mertens Signature Bar – to be introduced to the world in early 2024!!
